Italy, my love

I'm back from two weeks in southern Italy.  Joey and I shot two weddings on the Amalfi Coast and in between the shoots we had the best time.  Naples was our first stop.  It's a gorgeous, chaotic city.  We ate the best pizza (for a measly 3 Euros!) and fresh mozzarella.  We strolled the narrow streets, went to the market and took in the sun along the seaside.  Our hotel was a dream.  Hotel Piazza Bellini.  After our first shoot we picked up a bright red rental car and drove further south to Cilento National Park. We rented serious road bikes and did a bunch of coastal rides.  Spotted while riding: turquoise sea, cactuses, poppies, lizards and palm trees.  The rides took us into little coastal towns where we'd dine on big plates of pasta, wine and bread before continuing on.  Our home base in the park was San Marco di Castellabate - a teeny fishing village with views of Capri in the distance.  Amazing.  We squeezed in a beach day in Vietri Sul Mare the day after the second wedding.  Blue striped umbrellas and loungers and a practically empy, sunny beach.  The last few days of our trip were a bit of a whirlwind.  We stopped into my dad's hometown in Molise for a huge dinner with family.  My two zias are the BEST cooks!  Homemade wood-oven pizzas, pasta, salads, fresh cheese and so many cakes.  The berry crostata my aunt made was still warm from the oven when she gave it to us!  Incredible!  Our last day was spent on the sea near the Rome airport.  Fiumicino is a fishing town and super real.  We napped beside the pool on the rooftop terrace and dined on cacio e pepe (a pasta we hadn't had on the trip yet).  Home now.  Dreaming of the ricotta and pear gelato, hearing my favourite singer on the radio at any given time (Jova!) and roadside stands selling cherries.

P.S. We instagrammed our trip here!
